This wasn't Peter's first event at ours. Two years earlier, as part of a Quarry Hill Social, Peter had signed copies of his book Strangely Familiar in our shop and given a talk at our neighbours at the Munro House Gallery. This, however, was the first time we'd exhibited his work.

The exhibition, launched on the 9th October (coinciding with Light Night in Leeds), featured the scarecrows from Peter Mitchell's new book Some Thing means Everything to Somebody, published earlier in the year by RRB Photobooks. Peter chose his favourite scarecrows (and added some new suspects) for this very special exhibition.

On the 16th October, Peter returned to give one of his legendary talks, which looked back at his documentary work on the Quarry Hill flats. Joining him were the Design History Society, who showed a rare Super 8 film from the Yorkshire Film Archive, about the demolition of Quarry Hill.

2020 promises to be a big year for Peter, and sees the release of a new photobook from RRB dedicated to more of his Leeds' photographs. His 'Some Thing means Everything to Somebody' book is still available in store and we have a few signed copies left.
